In 1973, the American filmmaker Stuart Hersh explored the Mexican history and heritage in his documentary “La Raza”.

After the Mexican-American war, from 1846 to 1948, the United States government established a new border in the south.

The country had new territories, with thousands of Mexicans there; but they weren’t considered Americans. Basically, both governments abandoned them.

Why is it important to make a documentary about Mexicans in USA?

Why is this information important now?

Should people like Donald Trump see this kind of work in order to understand history?
